Keramas Beach with Its Popular Surfing Activity in Bali

When you hear about Keramas Beach, you may think it’s a funny name. Keramas in Indonesian means washing your hair with shampoo. It makes sense why people call it keramas since the waves and the whitewater hit the rocks along the edge of the beach. However, the original name of the beach was Kuramas, means Golden turtle. Turtles used to lay eggs and bury them in the warm black sand. Later, the name changed into Keramas, which means Golden Monkey. There used to have been many monkeys in the beach.
